Flowering Quince ~ March 23, 2014
It was raining hard one Sunday afternoon about a month ago and I was worried that the quince flowers in my neighbors' yard would get beaten down before I had a chance to take pictures of them. So I grabbed my camera, the tripod, my hooded raincoat, and a huge umbrella and went out to try to get a few shots. Everything looked pretty drab through the camera viewfinder. But I was afraid it was my only choice. About 45 minutes later, I was glad to see the sun was trying to come out. So I grabbed my camera and tripod - no raincoat or umbrella - and went out for more shots when it was much brighter and occasionally sunny. When I came back in I was anxious to see how much better the second batch of pics would look. And when I got them into the computer, I found the first batch was my favorite - the color, the background, and the raindrops - not the first time something like this has happened, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Waning Crescent Moon ~ March 26, 2014 ~ 6:54 a.m. EDT
There were heavy clouds and rain here on April 14-15, so no sign of the eclipse of the moon.
Here are some pics I took during the eclipse in 2007.
