Cooper on Mars
Well no... this is acutally Cooper surveying the North Dakota Badlands in the 1980's. But I've always been struck by how much the background looks like the images we have seen coming in from Mars. This photo and caption may be familiar to some of you - I used it after the rover "Sojourner" sent back photos from Mars in 1997.
The first caption for this photo - before the 1997 Mars landing - was:
"There must be a tree around here somewhere."
